The mass spectrometer and other very useful laboratory equipment has arrived safely in Sarajevo and is already operational! Happy faces on all sides, and a great perspective for hundreds of students at the University of Sarajevo. A training session will follow, and the first reports will come in bi-annually, to analyze progress and strengthen the Zurich-Sarajevo-Connection!
The logistics have now been sorted and all documents filed, the devices have been packed and are underway! May this “present” be a long-lasting one, and have a big impact on education at the University of Sarajevo. Merry Christmas from the whole EquipSent team!
Are you in need of scientific laboratory equipment for your teaching and research? Do you want to be our next recipient? Fill out our new Future Recipients Questionnaire, and tell us about your situation and desired items. This way we will be able to match better our suppliers & donors and create sustainable donation cases!
Today we reviewed our progress on the Sarajevo- and Congo-Cases, made future Plans for 2019 and had a great social evening! A very positive and productive “Work-Mezze-Balance” 😉
4 Boxes full of Physics and Electronics equipment will go to a university in Beni, Congo, and our team has finished packing all safely in boxes. The local professors and staff are aiming to use these to establish courses for students on sustainable energy, an urgent matter, not only in Congo. Next step: Logistics!
As last year, we were invited to the Clinton Global Initiative conference, an event for roughly 1000 social entrepreneurs from all parts of the world, driving topics such as equality, public health, poverty alleviation, etc. We were part of the “Educational Access” section. It was another fantastic experience to network and exchange ideas with people from most diverse backgrounds. We could also establish very useful contacts to entrepreneurs and experts in developing countries, through which we can establish successful equipment transfers to trusted recipients.
An excited team needs exciting photos – pick your favorite! In our hands you can see examples of valuable chemistry glass ware and oscilloscopes, which we recently acquired. They will find sustainable use in new destinations – Stay tuned!
We had a super exciting and productive brain-storming and thought-organizing workshop tonight to define what we at EquipSent believe is a long-term sustainable and fair way to set up equipment donations. These considerations will eventually become our major guidelines to future donation decisions. Big shout-out and huge thanks to Marie for this great workshop!
We had a great time discussing ongoing cases and future plans during a meeting in Basel. Afterwards we celebrated the Swiss National Day and watched the fireworks. Team building at its best!
